Wheel truing
can be a really worthwhile skill, and can save you
money on wheel repairs. However, for the average
biker who may only perform light maintenance on a
bike, truing anything more than a slight wobble
may be best left to a pro mechanic, because if you
don't know what you're doing you can really cock
up your wheel! Anyway, for slight wobbles you can
just flip your mountain bike over and use the
brake blocks as a guide, as a wheel truing stand is only really a
worthwhile investment if you plan on doing a lot
of wheel building or heavy wheel maintenance.
